Wonders of Photography

One of the most beautiful aspects of photography is that it gives us mere mortals the ability to capture a moment in time that can last for ages beyond our short and limited lifespans. Since the early part of the 19th century, this art form has become an indelible part of our combined human existence and in both good times and bad has had the ability to capture our life on this tiny planet. Although social activities and human events are certainly worthy of a photo or two, let us take a look at a few sites from around that world that can produce truly stunning pictures.

The Fjords of Finland

One of the most striking aspects of this Scandinavian region certainly lies in its natural beauty. Computers and other digital devices have the ability to capture the sapphire blue oceans crashing against rocky shores; the motions themselves frozen in time. The summer months see innumerable hues of green sprout up from the ground below while the evenings offer some of the clearest night skies in the world. One of the most striking images that can also be captured on high quality film are the entrancing Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) that often dance across the sky just above the horizon.

The Pyrenees, Southern France

Another location that is perfect for those who wish to visually embrace a stunning landscape is southern France. Individuals who understand only the basics of photography can still capture some truly extraordinary imagery as the snow-capped mountains emerge from the lush green hills that are so popular in this region. Should one choose to journey into this area during the spring and summer months, the rough mountain tops are starkly contrasted by endless fields of lavender and sunflower that spread out as a fragrant carpet below.

The Statue of Liberty, New York City

The advantage of this location is that it presents the avid photographer with two opportunities in one. The statue itself is a magnificent display of human ingenuity while another location even more famous lies only a few miles away. The Manhattan skyline rises in the distance as a bejeweled mountain; glittering with innumerable lights and colors. Many actually believe that no photographic portfolio is complete without this unmistakeable skyline.

These are only three of the literally thousands of sites around the world that are amazing to photographically capture. Both novice and experienced photographers alike flock to such destinations each year to capture these beautiful moments in time.
